Super Hind Review (PSP)

Posted on 20:46 by Unknown

Super Hind is a tactical air combat simulator. Patrol the seas, and high-defined places, It's quite a task to rid the enemy out of the map, and out of the surface of the sea. You gotta have your strategy well planed and execute.

You see, after playing this game I notice that the best way to destroy your enemies is to use the lock button so you will be able to shoot your missiles, and hit at a high rate. Always be careful not to be sitting still, or you will get shot after shot from your enemy until you are dead!! O-o. I guess the best movements to avoid enemy fire is to move sideways as much as possible, if you are in front or in back of enemy of course.

I had much fun playing this game.

DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition PSP Review

Posted on 13:37 by Unknown
DJ Max Portable Clazziquai Edition follows the DJ Max Portable Series and combines versions 1 and 2, which you can also play via "link disk" I believe. This game is great. I have loved the neat sounds and excellent visuals when playing. There are several modes to play here: the first and most important would be the "Club Tour" which will let you unlock new songs, clubs, emblems, etc. The arcade version which you will be able to choose the difficulty of the song you want to play. Collection feature is to view all the unlocked items, including movies, and images and more. Link disk is to insert other DJ Max Portable game. Finally Album is to view the neat graphic movies, or just listening to the great sounds and gives info on song title and artist title. 3 Language selection are here to choose from, I do believe this game is Korean, but you can choose English too.

The one downside for me, is that I have never heard this songs before, even the ones that are in English, unlike Guitar Way To Heaven, which carries all my favorite rock tunes (maybe this is due to the fact that I am more inclined to listening to rock alternative music than any other type of music). I dare say this game has more to it than Guitar Way To Heaven though. For one, the graphics are really a big factor for me (especially since manga, anime are my favorite kind of animation). The different options on mode play are also neat. The songs available here are over 100 and makes this game a very rich game and not one that you play a few days long and get bored of it.

On the video below I am playing the very first song which is extremely easy, only use of 2 buttons, the left and right directional buttons, and occasional joystick movement. there is also 4 button gameplay, 5, and 6 which is the hardest. I am really a beginner haha! and some songs really test your skill of quick reaction. I guess I need more practice, and playing the same songs over again, helps as you can sometime remember the button sequence. hehe!

SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1 PSP Review

Posted on 15:46 by Unknown

Its a great alternative for people who are not interested in installing CFW on their PSP. All these games or the majority are available using a NEO GEO Emulator for the PSP (MVSPSP). Differences between the games being emulated on NEO GEO and the UMD game SNK Arcade Classics are really minor. For instance, the S.E. Voice might sound just a bit different, or at least that is one thing I notice playing Samurai Showdown on both versions, but I say it's not a big deal. The one thing that UMD game has is the more options ability. For each game you can play: "Single Player Game", "Host Network Game", or "Join Network Game". UMD game includes 16 great classic games including "Art of Fighting, Metal Slug, Sengoku, Shock Troopers, Burning Fight, Fatal Fury, King of Fighters 94, and King of Monsters" just to name a few. These games are really classics and never go out of style in my book.

PSP Crash Bandicoot Mind Over Mutant Review

Posted on 12:19 by Unknown

What I like about Crash Bandicoot Mind Over Mutant for PSP is that crazy crash bandicoot and his funny expressions. This game has lots of them and since quite a long time, when the first PSOne was released, Crash Bandicoot was one of the first original games ever. I have liked how the new games have developed over time, not loosing the fun but enhancing it on each new release. Another great part of the game is the sense of humor and cartoon animation. The cut scene on the video below shows this, and even playing the game and just even looking at the wacky characters crash has to defeat are funny looking. haha! The controls are great, although I still have trouble doing the crash spin using the joystick on the PSP. I guess I just need more practice!! hehe! ^.^

Spider Man Web of Shadows PSP Review

Posted on 17:08 by Unknown
I just started playing Spider Man Web of Shadows on my PSP and Yes, its got much action, missions, and more. So far at the very beginning if you look at the video. At first there is this guy you meet, who is a reporter and wants to ask you questions. I do not know exactly but it seems that if you agree to take the interview you might just get good reputation points. This happens a lot in the game, there might be some actions that would hurt your good super hero reputation. So its good to be aware of that. Then, there I do the save the cat for poor old lady mission, which you will come to see the bill posted on some wall at street level. And then its the save that girl from that crook who is trying to steal her purse or something.

I must say that this game gets a 8 out of a perfect 10 from me. I do wish the producers would have done a better job on the dialog. I prefer voice spoken than just reading what they say (or where both concepts are incorporated). and maybe the graphics cell shaded would have been a good touch too, but these are just my thoughts. Nevertheless, I do enjoy the gameplay and the controls are kept simple and the variety of moves from tying some bad guy with spider web to swing across the buildings, and crawl on skyscrapers' walls. Its just exactly like our super hero Spider Man!!

PSP Midnight Club: Los Angeles Remix Review

Posted on 16:54 by Unknown
Well, this place looks familiar... (take a look at my video below)Yes it is Santa Monica, I know because I live in L.A. California, and similarities to this neighborhood are very good, especially the freeway entrance to 105 (you will notice that if you have really driven near Santa Monica, on Pacific Coast Highway [PCH]). Midnight Club: LA Remix for the PSP is claimed to be the best racer game in 2008. I won't argue with that, probably because maybe I haven't played much more racing games throughout this year. Or could it be that many video game making companies are slow on producing racing simulation games during this year.

The object to the game is simple and straight to the point, earn money and reputation racing on the streets of L.A. Simple as that may sounds you gotta be a top notch driver to avoid sometimes heavy traffic jams (these are really a pain in real life too. hehe!). I am so early in the game, still acquiring more money to buy better cars, and customizing them if needed. as you can see there are three levels of racing here, if you go to a green flag point on the map, that race will not be as hard as the yellow flag (Intermediate) or red flag (hard).

At the very beginning I haven't been able to play other than career mode, probably because I need to go further in the game to unlock it, and also apart from L.A. there is Tokyo that also needs to be unlocked i guess. Well, so far it's good to know that I can drive around my city without living my house. hehe! Good job Rockstar Games (Also publishers of the great Grand Theft Auto game series)

Star Ocean: First Departure PSP Review

Posted on 12:57 by Unknown
Star Ocean: Fist Departure has become one of my favorite RPG. Maybe not 10 score, but surely 9.9 in the fun department, story, battles, and side mini games. I very well recommend this game, and especially all who did get to play Star Ocean: Second Story. All those great features of that game have been inherited by Star Ocean First Departure. Including the super fun Item Creation feature.

The battles are great, and of course you accquire techniques to use on your enemy, the more you use a specific technique, the better it performs over time. Added here in this PSP version that wasn't that much on the PSone version of Star Ocean Second Story are the very numerous cut scenes that are just amazing, the more to understand the story well, and also another thing that I like is the audio voices, as oppose to just reading what they say most of the important dialog is spoken and written!!

I can't say enough about this game, because it is just great if you are into RPGs. I really had high expectations on this game, and so far into the game, I havent been disapointed. Square Enix, thanks!!

The video below shows how far I am into the game. Well, my calculations are that I am probably at 10% of the entire story, or maybe less. Here I am fighting the captain of the pirates who is a boss that tries to keep my party from sailing the seas. Once defeated, I can explore more of the world.

Buy Star Ocean: First Departure Here

I found a bug, and maybe if Square Enix gets to read this post they can do something about it. It seems that on the battle system you can get stuck. Nothing more to do here than just quit the game, leaving your unsaved data lost! It was actually a good thing that I wasn't quite far from where I last saved the game. On the video: I am battling the last guy on "A" rank battle at the Arena of Tatroi. I tried to perform Roddick's Dragon Slash technique (as it requires to be a little bit apart from the enemy), but it seems that me (Roddick) and the enemy have much speed and the battle ground is not big enough. So this is endless, and quite frustrating cause after the technique is set to be performed, you can't control your character. I tried everything, even running away. and there was no solution but to reset the game losing my unsaved data. I guess this doesn't happen often, but if happened to me it could definitely happen to anyone. My suggestion to solve the problem is add more battle ground, like in Star Ocean: Second Story. I do not actually know, but it seemed a much more bigger battleground. Has this happened to you?

Tutorial: Playing PSOne (PSX) Games on Your PSP: Warcraft 2

Posted on 11:53 by Unknown
First of all, this was tested on my PSP and it works just fine. My CFW is 4.01 M33, but this is going to work on any PSP with CFW 3.80 M33 and above. The needed files are:
1. seplugins folder that is located on the root of the memory stick on the PSP, and
2 .prx files that are inside the popsloader folder inside the seplugins folder. Did that sound confusing? Well it might be, haha!, but don't worry I have made it really simple so there won't be any problems setting this up on your PSP, trust me. O.k. so, just follow the instructions below and you are all set to go, and let me know if you have any problems, I might not know all the solutions, but possibly I do.

PSP: FIFA 09 Review

Posted on 01:27 by Unknown
Get yourself ready for a real sim playing professional soccer with FIFA 09 for the PSP. Its the most realistic experience in playing the world's best sport, brought to you by the great EA Sports. Yes! quite good game, but again, in order to really enjoy all the gameplay, you need to be a fan of soccer or play it in real life. As for me; yes, i do enjoy a bit of soccer, but not a big, big fan.

The good thing about this game is that its got a very amplified selection of teams troughout the whole wide world. As you can tell on the video below I selected MLS's Galaxy vs. Red Bulls. Too bad I could not include the whole match up, but it ended 1 to 0. Another thing that I liked is the Goal playback in other camera angles and even in slow motion making the moment as exiting as seeing it from the stadium or even the TV. and appreciate more of the sport. Completing the individual challenges will help improve a player stats and will be much easier to get victories over any other team.

FIFA 09 is quite a very rich game and thus the ISO file is quite a large one (over 1 GB). This is the reason I have not added this game for download here. I can only do that to those games which files do not exceed 200 MB. I have been using Rapidshare to upload the files, that is one of their requirements. If by any means anyone know a good file hosting site which will allow a much more expanded size, let me know by comment-reply! Thanks and enjoy the game!!

Buy FIFA Soccer 09

Update Your PSP CFW To 5.00 M33

Posted on 12:34 by Unknown
Just released yesterday I believe by Dark Alex
visit his site to see all recent CFWs here, (dead link)
or just download 5.00 M33 here via Rapidshare.(dead link)
legal Sony system software Firmware 5.00 specifics and download at official site here (dead link)

The big thing to talk about here with this new update is the add of web abilities, this includes the Playstation Store of course mentioned in my earlier post.

Constantly updating Firmware could be a pain in the you know where, but I guess it can't be helped since it is Sony's decision.

PSP Pipe Mania Review PSP Gameplay

Posted on 20:21 by Unknown
Pipe Mania for PSP is a great puzzle game I have enjoyed. It looks simple, and in fact, I'd say the rules are just plain simple, gameplay and the required ability to make good use of the pipe shapes to carry the water to the drainage and get a really good score requires much intelligence. Not mentioning that there are other factors to consider. Like for example the working around obstacles and the such.

To be honest, I got this game just out of curiosity. I did not expect this was going to be at the least interesting. I was wrong! this game is lots of fun for all ages. I should say so, I have played so many puzzle games I can't even count them all. About the Pipe Mania: You either play as Junior (the boy) or Fawcett (Junior's sister, the girl). There are four play modes: 1. World. 2. Arcade. 3. Bonus. and 4. Classic. at the very beginning you will only be able to play World.

O.k. so I have made this game available for download here as its not a huge file to download. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I am. Mind if you want to get this running on your PSP you need custom firmware. If you already do have it installed in your PSP, follow the simple instructions below:

Lego Batman PSP Review

Posted on 18:10 by Unknown

Lego Batman packs a good super punch of action adventure. It has great dynamics and combines good sense of humor to it too. This is a great game lots of kids should enjoy. although I often found myself stuck on what to do next. See, there are certain things you must do to keep on going at a stage.

I love the animated cut scenes, although you know if they were made out of Legos, then they all looked cubic. Kinda bothered me that there were no boobs on the females like Poison Ivy and Cat Woman haha!!

There are a bunch of bad guys, so it will keep Batman and Robin quite busy defeating each and everyone of them. Clay Face is up first, and there is also the Penguin, Joker, Cat Woman, Poison Ivy, Scar Face, Mr. Freeze, and the Riddler to mention a few.

The other thing this game has is no voice actors (on cut animated scenes), just humming, mumbling, I don't know how you call it, but its great to keep it simple, but often I was wondering what they were trying to say if these Legos had voices. My favorite scene is at the beginning when the dynamic duo is at the top of a building overlooking the bad guys down at the street level, then Robin takes a jump from the top of the building to the street and hurting himself, while Batman simply takes the firescape stairs. hahaha! hilarious!! This is definitely a keeper!

R Type Tactics PSP Review

Posted on 17:37 by Unknown
I barely got this R-Type Tactics for my PSP. I must say that it is too early for me to determine the fun factor of this game, but looks and feels pretty good so far. I think it would seem a bit complicated to some people, because there are a lot of factors to consider and got to read much of the content so anyone could understand what is happening in the battlefield.

As usual you take your turn and move in and attack the enemy if in range. The different types of mobiles have their own type of weaponry and shoot range. I still haven't figured out some things on this game, like for example the acquire items on some stages. I guess I must study it carefully and go to the manuals. See, that is how I get into games at first, I just go directly to the action instead of reading the manual first and get to know what is all about. I kinda do the opposite. Well, to tell you the truth after playing many games like this is not so hard to figure out after just playing the first few minutes.

I have cleared three stages so far, and the one that is on the video below is called the Mars Enigma. I was going to include the whole mission, but missions can really take up to 20 to 40 minutes in completing. Well, at least for me. So, I have limited time creating videos. The 3rd Mission is different than the others in the way that you are not able to see the enemies in the whole area battle field just your surroundings, kinda reminded me of War Craft 2 for the PSone, a really long time ago.

What had helped me win battles is the good use of the fighter mobiles, they charge up their cannon and can really do much damage to the enemy. You will see what I am talking about whenever of if you get this game for the PSP. Good overall graphics and I see what its got stored for more gameplay ahead.

NBA 09: The Inside PSP Review

Posted on 00:05 by Unknown
NBA 09 The Inside for PSP is amazing NBA action and Yes, plenty of fun. After playing this I was really satisfied on my need to shoot some hoops, of course I was always the one on the basketball court playing real basketball a couple of years back. So this game is really nice, knowing also that I follow NBA basketball and am a Lakers fan hehe!! Well, it just goes to show you that not anybody would enjoy this sport on the PSP.
See, you gotta be a fan to enjoy this type of action.

NBA 09 The Inside is a great basketball game in the count of not many basketball simulators are there on the PSP. Definitely your money's worth if you think about the great features of this game. Modes of play are as follows: Quick Play (which is what the video shows! Note that I am controlling the Los Angeles Lakers, hehe!), NBA, and Block Party. Controls are kept simple and that is a plus, although the way to do alley-oops has been quite hard for me since two buttons are to be pressed simultaneously. Can't leave out the Wi-Fi capabilities, of course; Go head-to-head as multi-player gameplay is supported. Music selection is great, somehow they knew some of my favorite tunes to play.

Overall I give NBA 09 The Inside a 9 out of 10. Not a perfect score because I think they could have made some small issues a little better in my opinion. But pretty dam close!

Well, below you will see a match up between Los Angeles Lakers versus the Portland Trail Blazers! Who do you think will win?

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords PSP Review

Posted on 21:54 by Unknown
I dare say Puzzle Quest Challenge of the Warlords might just be the one puzzle PSP game that has had me hooked from the first minutes I played it. Yes, great entertaining and very interesting game as it also tons of fun. It then became one of my favorites and recommend it to all.

The concept of Puzzle Quest is to match the perspective colors, aligning them as at least 3 in a row. there are green, yellow, blue, and red for mana consumption, which help with the casting of spells, purple for experience points, and skulls for attacking. aligning 4 or more in a row will give you more mana for the colored balls, more experience, of course and will make more damage to the enemy's health power (HP), plus your turn does not end. The library of foes is quite a variety from beasts of the earth to undead zombies. Each with their own mana spells. A battle can be quite long if you think too much on where to make your move.

Overall this is a must for puzzle game players,.

Puzzler Collection PSP Review

Posted on 22:54 by Unknown
Puzzler Collection is basically a 4 type puzzle game(crossword, fitword, sudoku and wordsearch) in which there you can play these modes: Puzzler Tournament, Quick Blast, Fast and Fun, and Head to Head. Not necessarily a really exiting game for me, but sure beats doing nothing ha! I do however recommend this game for those who enjoy doing crossword puzzle on the daily newspaper.

Valhalla Knights 2 PSP Review

Posted on 21:47 by Unknown
Valhalla knights 2 for the PSP is as much fun as the first one, of course sequels are supposed to be better, but I think that most of the cut scenes here are a great help, not so making it way better than the first one. Its an interesting RPG, the great factors that jump up to my head are:

1. The fact of how you can customize your main character, and the rest of all your other allys too. selection of race, face feature, and job title are good features of the game

2. You gotta work to get some cash on you so you can add Allys. you can't just kill a few simple monsters, and expect to be rich, haha! It is kinda good, but sometimes you get bored of killing the same type of enemies all the time.

3. The battle system is great, real-time fighting, non of the take your turn stuff. Plus you will not walk in the dungeon and counter enemies randomly. Instead you will always be able to see your enemy before your encounter.

4. Equipping weapons and armory might not seem very important to visualize to people, because we are used to seeing characters on most RPG games that don't change visual appearance when equipping different type of weapons and armor. Well, here you can actually see if you are wearing boots, shoes, shirt, armor plate, helmet, knuckles, sword, knife etc.

There might be more great factors than that, but I actually just started playing this game, I have absolutely got addicted playing the first couple of minutes and I am sure you will too.

If you have played this Valhalla Knights 2 and would like to share your personal opinion, I welcome comments, opinions and questions. Please comment-reply!...thanks

Space Invaders Extreme ISO For PSP

Posted on 18:41 by Unknown
About Space Invaders Extreme: I know its a title released by Taito, but just as see the credits now its also Square Enix. It's porpuse is to celebrate 30 years since the original arcade was first released. Background graphics are great, but same pixalated enemies, spaceships and shootings. haha! Getting special shooting boosters are great, like for example the laser is great and my favorite, but all the boosters have a time limit... bummer. I think they should have modified it as not lose booster power, but then again, i guess it would have been too easy. see the thing to do get the boosters is to kill 4 invaders from the same color, so far saw red, green, blue and yellow...oh..oh! is that right?

Well not the greatest shooter, but somewhat good and entertaining. So far have had no trouble getting the the third stage, lol although the video below shows otherwise.

Space Invaders Extreme is still fun to play, shooters gamers would love it, as much as I have, but I do not consider myself as a shooter person, much more into adventure, rpgs, and fighting game type. oh well...

The game ROMS I have included here with the SNES Emulator are the following:

1. Ms Pac Man
2. Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition
3. Super Punch Out
4. Yoshi's Island
5. Super Mario World
6. Final Fight 2

8. Bust A Move
9. Contra 3: The Alien Wars
10. Captain Commando
11. Brawl Brothers
12. 2020 Super Baseball

All these roms are just the best I did ever played on my Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). There are like old songs, but never go out of style, except they are games. If you remember playing these games on your old system and have a PSP now. you can get these non-large file ROMS and have plenty of fun like you used to when played them on your SNES. I actually dont have my SNES anymore. It broke a long time ago, but I can still play those games that marked my youth. haha!!

My Spanish Coach On PSP

Posted on 20:09 by Unknown

Learn and play at the same time. Here's a new idea from Ubisoft: how about learning a new language: Spanish. It's going to be one the very rare educational games for the PSP. And it could come in handy for the those of you who are constantly trying to communicate with Spanish speaking people, who don't know English. It could also be good if you are on your way to Mexico on a vacation trip or other. For example you want to take a taxi cab. " hey amigo, vamos a la cantina " (hey, friend lets go to bar) lol.

To tell you the truth this game is on the Nintendo DS, and do not know if it is a good idea to have this on the PSP. I mean, in my opinion, what the PSP really needs is good original games exclusively for the PSP. None of the DS or any other consoles. I think that would really boost up the PSP in rank, and sales, if Sony ever had thought of it.

I will, however be getting this game out of curiosity. I want to see for myself the fan factor, and the learning experience. Who knows... it might be worth something. The schedule released is October 7, 2008.

Here below is the DS version. I will post the PSP version when it comes out. cheers...
