PSP Code Lyoko Review

Posted on 20:12 by Unknown
Code Lyoko is an action/adventure game. I was looking at recent PSP releases, This game got my attention even though I had no idea this is based on animated series. I however did find it interesting on some of the game play. The things that jumped to my attention starting the game were: The Nice intro movie, as you can see on the video below, and it also has an interesting way to do battle. Every character have their own technique. Sometimes using a specific character for their technique in order to defeating some types of monsters. You can switch characters (total of 4) anytime you want.

All the interesting game play is inside a parallel virtual world by the name of Lyoko. This is where to explore, encounter enemies, and bosses. The heroes try to dispose of a threat In Lyoko that could very well destroy their own world.

Truthfully, Code Lyoko did not do much for me, and this could be, because this game is based on animated series I have never herd of or watched. So it falls in game plots that I no clue of. Those who are familiar to the anime will have more interest for sure.

Code Lyoko is now available worldwide. It is published by The Game Factory (where fun is made. lol). and developed by Neko entertainment. It is also on Nintendo DS, PS2, and Nintento Wii.

PSP Memory Cards

Posted on 15:00 by Unknown
Everyone knows that in order to save games, play video content, view pictures and to do mostly anything on the PSP, you need to have a PSP memory card. They come in a variety of prices, and this depends on how much storage you want. The largest memory size capability is the recommended choice. You will be able to store lots of data, including, movies, music, pictures, much more media and computer files.

Some great deals are found below for the different memory card size capacity. Check these out:

Here is the mother of all memory cards, as summer 2008, it holds 16, yes 16 GB of memory, you will have more space there to place movies, games, music, and anything that can go there. Click image to see full specs.

Ok, I figured the more we can jam on the PSP the better!! So, for a real good deal on the best 8GB memory cards Go Here!

Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix PSP Review

Posted on 13:22 by Unknown
For the longest time I have been searching for Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, although it came out some years ago, and maybe considered as an old game developed by Capcom, I remember seeing it at the local arcades. It was not that popular, or at least at the arcade I used to visit frequently.

I do believe its a great fighting game, and excellent for PSP. Portability is always great, and this game connects the two very nicely.

Some may think this is a kiddy game, and in fact it seems so to me too. The chibi-like characters and collecting gems, and how easy it could be for anyone to make a hit combo (just press same button many times), definitely spells it. ha! but so what, I still like it just for the fun factor. Never have I seen a character change outfit while doing combo. haha!

The character roster include some of those from Street Fighter 2, 3, Alpha, Darkstakers, and Red Earth. Hidden character: Akuma, and Dan. My personal favorite: Sakura, Morrigan, Ken, and Ryu.

Puzzle Quest: Galatrix PSP Preview

Posted on 14:06 by Unknown
Puzzle Quest: Galatrix is a sequel to Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords. I did get a chance to play Puzzle Quest: Chanllenge Of The Warlords, and I must say I was amazed, and was greatly entertained with it. Yes, I also went through the entire game from beginning to end, but I must say It was quite a long journey. Some battles took more time than expected, but of course I did not want to loose, so every move was carefully thought of as it was critical.

The concept of Puzzle Quest is to match the perspective colors, aligning them as at least 3 in a row. there are green, yellow, blue, and red for mana consumption, which help with the casting of spells, purple for experience points, and skulls for attacking. I do believe Puzzle Quest: Galatrix will have the same based functions to do battle as Challenge Of The Warlords, but maybe a little bit tweaked and with different names.

For those of you who are familiar to Puzzle Quest: Challenge Ot The Warlords, and had a good experience playing this out of the ordinary puzzle game, Galatrix is a must. It sure is for me. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. Puzzle Quest: Galatrix is published by D3 Publisher, and is developed by Infinite Interactive. As to the PSP release date for the U.S., not quite sure, but said to be at the beginning of 2009.

King Of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga. PSP Preview

Posted on 00:08 by Unknown
KOF Collection: The Orochi Saga is a collection of five complete KOF games. Did you have enough fighting already? The games included are: The Orochi Saga trilogy ('95-'97) as well as KOF '94 and KOF '98: Dream Match Never Ends. This collection is also packed with many great unlockable bonus features.

I think it is a must for me. I have been playing these games ever since the first tournament back in 94 I believe. Although I am not so good as some real hardcore fighting game players I do hold my average talent and can do the basics and special and super special moves.

The KOF series always held second place to Street Fighter 2 in my book. Fatal Fury did not do so good when it came out, and ever since SNK had been trying to come up with fighting games that would be as popular as Street Fighter 2. Well that was way back then, I really have no clue who leads in the fighting game genre today, and with the implemented 3d graphics to most systems nowadays, Tekken, Virtual Fighter and others are also popular.

KOF Collection: The Orochi Saga is developed and published by SNK Playmore. It is schedule to be released on October 14, 2008. Iori will kick major @ss! ^_^ watch my video here!!

Out in stores now:

Star Ocean: First Departure PSP Preview

Posted on 13:16 by Unknown

I remember playing Star Ocean: The Second Story on the PSone almost 10 years ago. Boy! it was great. This is the one with Rena Lanford, a girl, and Claude Kenni, a guy. Apparently you choose one of the hero's to be the main character of the story. After looking at the video previews of Star Ocean: First Departure I notice some similarities of the Second Story. For example, the graphics, and battle system are the same.

I loved the battle system. It works differently than most RPG's. It is not by taking turns for you to hit, or do any other type of action, but it is real time fighting. It has been so long since I last played the Second Story that I forgot how many maximum characters were able to do battle, but I do believe its 4. Of course you control one character, while the other are controlled by the CPU. You can of course switch to other characters you want to control in battle, and do not have worry about the other guys as you can assign their way to conduct battle.

Another feature that the Second Story had was Item Creation. I would spend countless hours trying to make my top notch weapons and other accessories and even food to win contests and stuff. Yes the food contest was one of my favorite mini games to play.

If you ever played Second Story and got to the end, you'd know that the game had different endings as the way the story would had developed. That was also great about that game. I just hope every single of those elements were conserved for First Departure on PSP.

Star Ocean: First Departure is developed and published by Square Enix, and Schedule to be released for the United States on October 21, 2008. I can't wait to play it!!

Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Vs Trailer

Posted on 15:26 by Unknown
Here is a trailer of the great project by Square Enix: Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 and not known for PSP, but hopefully yes.
Amazing Scenes, but the thing is we probably won't see this title to be released soon here in the U.S. As always lucky Japan gets it first in 2009.

Bionic Commando Then And Now Rearmed

Posted on 12:35 by Unknown

Bionic Commando was one of my first early games ever purchased for my NES system, quite a long time ago. It was great though, I played it till the end. Much like all the games I ever got my hands on. I really made it seem like a job for me to get throughout the entire game. Well in fairness there wasn't as many games then as there is nowadays. It was not very often I had gotten a new game for my NES.

Capcom has remembered this game and it is to do a sequel called: Bionic Commando Rearmed. Sure you will be able to play this on the PSP, but as remote play of PS3. Bummer, it is not a PSP release, and those without a PS3, sorry friends out of luck for now.

That might not be so good of Capcom, not everyone owns a PS3, as of now. Wouldn't it have been a better choice to make Bionic Commando Rearmed a PSP release?

PSP DJ Max Fever Preview

Posted on 01:04 by Unknown

Another from the few titles of the PSP that falls in the music genre. Looking at the preview video (down below) here, DJ Max Fever looks amazing, especially the animation scenes, and cool feels like you are really in a band creating the tunes.

DJ Max Fever is said to be a compilation of 2 games: DJ Max Portable, and DJ Max 2. Many of us living here in the US, have had the pleasure of getting our hands on DJ Max Portable, I was one of them.

To tell you the truth, I didn't do much with it. I guess mostly because of the fact that when this came out, I used the hacked version of it, and my poor PSP could not handle too much data I think. If you are in the the same boat as me, please tell me there is nothing wrong with my PSP. haha!

This game makes competition to Guitar Way To Heaven 4, which is a homebrew application game for the PSP. Ok. so, if there was a comparison on which game is better for the PSP. DJ Max Portable or Guitar Way To Heaven 4, what would you choose?

They both fall under the same genre, and you have to press the buttons accordingly, and timing is of essence. What the huge difference notable is that DJ Max, even though it has been released in the whole world it's still targeted at Japanese audience. I don't know this Japanese songs, nor I speak a word in Japanese. Will it have English, Spanish, Italian songs? The good thing about it is that the graphics are amazing, better than Guitar Way To Heaven 4. Now GWTH is not so big on the graphics and anything fancy, but the big plus for me is that all the songs there are popular and some of which are my personal favorite (check out this post), that really is more than 50% of what drives me toward GWTH.

DJ Max Fever is schedule to be released in the US on November, 11, 2008. Published by PM Studios and developed by Pentavision.

Manga On The PSP 1

Posted on 11:33 by Unknown

Some great manga stories are available for the PSP. I started reading "Grounded Angel" manga by Steve Horton, Vivi Elanita & Johnny Lowe, and loved how its going. This is partially part 1, and can not wait for part 2. I won't describe it, so you be the judge it if it gets your interest. This can go on your PSP. All you need to do is just download the .rar file from this site, extract the folder (if you need winrar to extract; get it here) and place it on PHOTO folder of your PSP's memory stick. Aside from this great story, there are more on the site mention. enjoy!!

Recent Problems With SNES Emulator For The PSP

Posted on 17:02 by Unknown

Ever since I upgraded my Custom Firmware to 3.90 M33-3, I could not use the SNES Emulator (snes9x TYL) I was using, (can't quite remember the version). So what I did was look for an updated version of the emulator, thinking the one I had didn't work because that specific emulator was old and outdated. As I was searching I came across many versions that I could download on this site here. I downloaded the most recent released of SNES emulator which is (I don't know if still is the most recent) "Snes9xTYLsmcm Test 5 27/05/08".

I have PSP Fat version, and even though it says it is for the Slim, it works on the Fat as well, because I tried it. The only and huge problem for me using this emulator was the fact that it got stuck on the rom game, and could not exit out of it unless you did a hard reset. I did not have this problem before updating my CFW. I do not know if I am the only one having this problem, or its probably the fact that my PSP is Fat version and not a Slim. Well I tried the other SNES emulators files down from that list, and still had the same problem. If anyone can help resolve this problem would be nice.

I finally found "uo_snes9x test 0" that didn't get stuck on the rom game, but it has little problems with audio, and graphics, and you can not change the PSP Clockspeed from 333 Mhz. Well, For now it will have to do since I got many SNES roms and play them constantly.

PSP Disidia: Final Fantasy

Posted on 13:33 by Unknown

Disida: Final Fantasy is exclusively for the PSP. Its work is still in progress, but the popularity it has gotten has been overwhelming. It is definitely a super hot game we (Squaresoft, Square Enix fans) all anxiously await. Developed by Square Enix and it is said to be released on December 2008 for Japanese audience. It is still unknown if this game will be launched to the rest of the world. But hopefully it will.

This project comes as a celebration of the Final Fantasy franchise's 20th anniversary. The game basically is a one-on-one battle on a 3D environment. What's so cool about it is that the battleground looks very spacious as I saw the trailer down below, and the attack moves are cool accordingly to the specific character on their original Final Fantasy game. The Characters are a handful and picked from some of the past Final Fantasy series. Although I have not played all FF series the ones that come to my mind are: Onion Knight, Sephiroth, Squall Lionheart, Ultimecia, and Tidus. For a more wide info on the this game go here!

My 1st Custom PSP Theme

Posted on 11:36 by Unknown
Yey!! it took me a while, but finally finished my custom PSP theme. This is really related to my art account at deviantart.com. Ha! yes, if nobody here knew, I am an starving artist who appreciates the manga, anime society, and watch lots of anime movies and tv series.

As for the images here, they are not fan art, just product of my own imagination. I was thinking that I wanted full body of manga styled girls in the begining, but the images are so small that I thought the quality would be lost once compressing/sizing the image. So it was best to focus in on their faces instead.

If you are not familiar on how to place custom theme on your PSP, go to (dead link). It will explain everything you need to do. Any PSP can do this, no hacks needed!!

PSP GPS System For North America

Posted on 13:38 by Unknown

Don't get lost! get a Sony GPS System with the use of the PSP and you will have the map of the entire country by your side. The GPS System is available in Japan, of course and now on Europe, but North America is still tapping its foot and looking at its watch, and waiting.

How long will this wait be? Some news says that Sony executives have promised the GPS System will be launched in North America withing the next nine months (that is how long it takes for human pregnancy. lol).

The reason for delays of this device is because of sale prices. Some think that Sony might be afraid of low sales potential. It will be understandable and expected that the GPS for North America will also include a second or even third feature to help drive sales (might be a game or cool application). We will soon see how this works out!

What Systems Are Selling In Japan?

Posted on 02:43 by Unknown

I know many sites with data on this and I think this is important info, because it also reflects on the rest of the world. It is very good to know the PSP are selling like hotcakes over in Japan. It shows that Sony made good decision on preparing a portable game device we all have come to know as Playstation Portable released in the US about 3 years ago. It hasn't always been like this, but lately PSPs are keeping ahead of its competitors by a big margin. Just take a look at the sales facts as of July 21st to July 27th (just one week):

Playstation Portable: 67,452
Nintendo DS Lite: 56,968
Nintendo Wii: 41,024
Playstation 3: 10,692
Playstation 2: 9,2911
Xbox 360: 4,94

Without a doubt the PSP is the system to get at this time and not just over in Japan, this also applies to the U.S. and the rest of the world too. After knowing what the PSP could do for me, I fell in love with it, so I decided to tell the world about it, thus this blog. I guarantee this info is accurate, but do not take my word for it, please visit this site to find out more! I will try to keep this info up-to-date from now on, so stay tuned!

Resident Evil For PSP

Posted on 01:49 by Unknown

Rumors, just rumors going around and I visited psprumors.com for this info, ha! Yes!!! Capcom would do a very good job if they'd release a brand new Resident Evil title for the PSP, but chances are 30% this will happen soon or for the next 5 years or so. I guess they are too busy working on other titles for the big console systems nowadays, or at least that is what i think. I really enjoy playing the original Resident Evil with a PSOne Emulator on my PSP though. It is great classic game, and i got hooked on this game ever since my PSOne experience.

Many think that that game publishers such as Capcom are not interested in releasing lots of PSP games, due to the many Custom Firmwares and PSP game download hacks. Is this really true? It does make sense, but what is the percentage of all PSP owners knowing or having CFW I wonder?

Anyway, I would really love it if Resident Evil was in the works, because it would give me another of hundreds of reasons to like my PSP even more!! ha! I think most of all PSP gamers would agree with me on hoping this title comes true. Especially the video game veteran type like me haha!! :)
